About the Desk

What we do
We answer one practical marketing question per page, starting with the answer. Every price and rule has a source and a date, and price tables are re-checked each quarter.
How we check facts
Prices come from each provider's own pricing page on the day we checked, or a dated published comparison where a provider does not publish prices. Rules come from the regulator (ACMA, ACCC) or the law itself. Screenshots are labelled with the date they were taken; pictures marked "Illustration" are generated images, not real businesses.
Who writes it
Articles are written by a small desk under the byline "the Desk editor".
Corrections
When a price or a rule changes, we update the page and the "Last checked" date at the top.
